When should I arrive in New Zealand?
It’s best to arrive on the actual start date as there’s no activities on day one, so you’ll have plenty of time to check in, relax and meet your group. If you do arrive in Auckland before your start date, we will still pick you up from the airport and will book you into the hostel from the day you arrive. You’ll just need to pay approx. $30 NZD for any extra nights when you check in.

We’ll sort all the important things you’ll need before you start working in New Zealand. We’ll have your NZ Bank Account open with your card and pin ready for when you arrive, along with your NZ SIM card and IRD Number.
Certain jobs such as bar work and construction require you to complete specific training. We’ll explain what’s needed and can book you into all the necessary training courses after NZ Intro.

What Visa do I need for New Zealand?
You need a visa to enter New Zealand. Most people who do NZ Intro are on a Working Holiday Visa. A WHV is usually available to those aged 18 – 30 and valid for 12 or 23 months. We can organise your visa before you go.
Do many people travel alone?
Yes. Lots of people on our trips are traveling solo. But by doing our trip you’ll instantly be part of a group, so it’s a great way to meet others and make friends!
When is the best time to visit New Zealand?
The country’s rugged beauty and varied landscapes means it’s always a good time to go backpacking in New Zealand! The summer months (December to March) bring long, sunny days perfect for spending outdoors, the winter months (June to September) bring snow to the South Island and parts of the North, and the shoulder seasons bring milder weather and fewer visitors.
What luggage do you recommend?
We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 15-20kgs of stuff should be plenty.
