Jet Boat Tour on the Shotover River

A fully guided tour into Skippers Canyon with bus driver commentary. The drive into Skippers Canyon is an adventure in itself as the bus winds its way down the historic Skippers Road which was chiselled out of the sheer rock face by the miners over 120yrs ago. Stunning scenery, photo opportunities.

Then on the jet boat ride the adrenaline really starts to surge as the boat is skillfully maneuvered just inches from the steep canyon walls with speeds in excess of 80km/h and a series of 360 degree spins. Disused gold mining equipment still remains in the river and is visible from the boat as well as a number of Lord of the Rings locations.
